Introducing David Foley and Tandy Johnson
This week we have been reflecting upon the achievements of our JSC over the term. JSC students have planned and supported many initiatives including Remembrance Day, a domino chain using cereal that will result in donating the cereal to food banks as well as planning to get lunchtime reading and sports clubs up and running.
The JSC approached the leadership team this term suggesting mesh be installed at the base of the 5/6 court fence. This was to stop down balls from rolling under the fence. The JSC had identified that this not only caused student frustration but was also a safety improvement as students were often tempted to jump over the fence instead of going around through the playground to safely go through the gate. Thank you to Darren for supporting the JSC to achieve their goals by installing the mesh. We are grateful for all that you do at our school to make our school a great place to be.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the JSC on an outstanding year of achievements and amplifying student voice in 2025.
On Monday next week we will have the first of our transition sessions for 2025 where students will meet their new teacher and new classmates. They will have an opportunity to get to know one another and participate in some fun activities together. Some of the 2025 classrooms are still being prepared as mentioned in last week’s newsletter. We are relocating the Mindfulness Centre and the Library into the Junior School building so some classrooms won’t be quite ready until the last week of the term. All students will know where their 2025 room will be next Monday and we will ensure that they are able to spend time in their new room as soon as possible once construction works are completed.
