Working Bee Success

Last Saturday, we held our second working bee for the year, and it was a productive morning. Thanks to our volunteers, we accomplished a lot, including mulching the Prep and Junior playgrounds, weeding and tidying up garden beds, and pruning trees around the school.

The work was tough but rewarding, and the school grounds are looking better than ever. These improvements make a noticeable difference in keeping our outdoor areas neat and safe for the students.

We ended the morning with a simple morning tea, giving everyone a chance to relax and chat. It was great to see everyone catching up and enjoying the chance to connect after a busy morning.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time and effort. The improvements are clear to see, and we look forward to welcoming even more helpers at our next working bee!

Honouring Remembrance Day

On Monday, four of our school leaders attended the Montmorency-Eltham RSL’s Remembrance Day Commemorative Service. The ceremony paid tribute to those who served in the armed forces and included readings, reflections, and the laying of wreaths.

Harry Collins represented our school by reading the Acknowledgement of Service, while Clare, Max and Blake respectfully laid a wreath on behalf of Our Lady Help of Christians.

I attended the service and was very proud of the respect and responsibility shown by our leaders. They represented our school with maturity and helped honour this important occasion. Well done to Harry, Clare, Max, and Blake for their participation.

Colour Run Fun

Today, the whole school joined in a colour run and it was a fantastic day for everyone. The course, planned by our PFOL, took students around the school boundary with lots of fun challenges along the way.

Students ran through our Rainbow Sprinklers to cool off, crawled under a cargo net and tackled a tyre obstacle course. Our coloured powder stations ensured all our students were brightly decorated, adding extra excitement to the day. Parents also got involved, spraying water on the students as they ran past, which brought plenty of laughs.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the day a success, especially Lisa McCann and Michelle Rabbito, who worked hard to set up and keep everything running smoothly.

Events like the colour run highlight the strong community spirit at OLHC. It’s wonderful to see students, parents and staff come together to create such a fun and memorable experience. Well done to everyone involved!
