2024 YEAR BOOKS
We would like to remind families, that as with the 2023 Yearbooks, the BHCS 2024 Yearbooks will be distributed in Term 1 of 2025. This ongoing change of a later distribution allows us to include important end-of-year content, such as Year 12 final days and celebrations, as well as other Term 4 events across the school.
We will ensure all families receive their 2024 Yearbooks, including graduating Year 12 students and any families who may be leaving BHCS.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
SEMESTER 2 REPORTS UPDATE
Semester 2 reports for students in Prep to Year 11 will be emailed to families towards the end of the final week of school (after Celebration Night), unless there are unexpected delays. Year 12 students will not receive reports, as their results are issued externally.
If you have not received your child’s report by Wednesday, 11 December, please email reports@bhcs.vic.edu.au, and we will assist in resolving the issue as soon as possible to ensure you receive the report. Queries regarding subject content or grades should be directed to the class teacher, whose email address can be found in the top right corner of the corresponding class report.
CAR PARK THANK YOU
As we approach the end of the school year, the traffic management team would like to express sincere gratitude to you for your continued cooperation and patience in the school car park.
Your understanding and adherence to the car park guidelines has helped make drop-offs and pick-ups as efficient as possible. We truly appreciate your efforts in maintaining a safe environment for our students and school community.
Thank you again for your support, and we look forward to working together to keep our school community safe and welcoming in 2025!
2025 BHCS FEES SCHEDULE
Please see attached below the 2025 Fee Schedule.
PREVENT THE SUMMER READING SLIDE
Many children, especially struggling readers, forget some of what they've learned or fall out of practice during the summer break. It can be challenging to keep up with regular reading during the summer, so here are three strategies to help your reader improve their reading skills during the summer and beyond:
- Read Six books: Research shows that reading just six books during the summer may prevent a student from losing their reading skills. You can visit your local library and ask for help selecting books that match your child's age, interests, and abilities. If your child like a challenged, they can join the Big Summer Read at Your Library (Eastern Regional) or Connected Libraries (Casey Cardinia) or your local library.
- Incidental reading every day: Encourage your child to read at every opportunity. Here are a few ideas:
- Recipes
- Preparation for Activities (eg. game or building instructions, etc)
- Learn the lyrics to favorite songs
- Read aloud/listen to audiobooks together: Reading aloud benefits all children and teens, especially those who struggle. It builds vocabulary, strengthens cognition and increases attention span. It can also be an enjoyable way to pass time on holiday commutes.
Any reading your child can do over the summer will help them maintain their skills and have a good start to 2025.
