Prep Guy

We have been very busy over the past two weeks, completing assessments to inform our reports and revising the curriculum in all areas. In Reading we have been been revising the most common words, reading words such as play, plays, played and playing looking to the middle and end of words plus thinking what would make sense. In Writing we have been planning our very own narrative. Gee we have some amazing authors and illustrators in Prep Guy! In Maths we have been revising fractions. We used Fairy Bread Day on Monday as our inspiration, cutting our bread in half then quarters! We have also revised direction. We had a lot of fun trying to get our partner to the Prep to Grade 2 playground, giving directions! Some didn't make it to the playground with confusions of left and right direction! We also revised different sorts of patterns plus 2D and 3D shapes. We welcomed our Kinder friends on Wednesday and had a lot of fun with our Teddy Bear's Picnic.

Prep Guy Student Achievers

Well done to Milan and Eli for the past two weeks. Both students have worked very hard with their assessment tasks and never gave up, even with the challenges. What Resilient Raccoons and superstars!

1 Wigg

It has been a busy last two weeks as we have finalising assessments and consolidating student knowledge against the curriculum. In reading we have been focusing on the main idea and important information in non-fiction texts and tuning into interesting words. We have been also focusing on /-le/ making the long /l/ sound. In writing students have been exploring couplet and colour poems.

In Maths students have been consolidating their knowledge on capacity, length and shapes. When exploring shapes, students have been focusing on the features of 2D and 3D shapes and identifying them in the environment.

Student Achievers

Well done to Fletcher M and Florence for being our student achievers the last two weeks! You both have shown great Respect and Resilience in all that you have done.

1/2 Stoll

We have been working very hard on all of our assessments over the last two weeks. Students have completed assessments on Essential Assessment using our iPads, a narrative story for writing and a reading assessment that assesses students decoding and comprehension skills. Whilst we have been doing these, students have worked on a range of tasks surrounding the English, Maths and Humanities curriculum. We have been practicing our recount, narrative, letter and handwriting skills, reviewing vowel digraphs (a, e and i) and fiction comprehension strategies, and we have been strengthening our place value knowledge and understanding of mathematical equations.
