PFA Committee 2025
OHR is reliant on parents who generously volunteer their time to form the PFA Committee to support a strong community, through social and fundraising events, weekly tuck-shop, maintaining/enhancing the school environment and keeping our families connected (just to name some of the activities undertaken!).
With several existing members retiring, changing PFA roles or leaving the OHR community, the call is out for some new members in 2025.
Meetings are held monthly from February to November on the last Wednesday of each month, 7.30-8.30pm. The 2024 AGM will be held on Thursday 27th November, all are invited to attend.
We would especially welcome parents to nominate for the roles of:
President
- Oversees the running of the Parents and Friends Association and chairs each monthly meeting. The president is called upon to make decisions in the best interest of the school and the PFA. This role works closely with the Vice-Presidents in a hands-on way to ensure all fundraising and social event requirements are met.
Vice President (Social)
- Organises and coordinates with the President and Principal, all PFA social activities for the year. This role is supported by class rep coordinators and parent volunteers to put on a few social events, e.g. family social Easter event, kids’ movie night and kids disco.
Vice President (Fundraising)
- Organises and coordinates with the President and Principal, fundraising activities for the year. This role is supported by class rep coordinators and parent volunteers to support any planned fundraiser activities, e.g. hot cross buns sale, trivia/wine night or similar event, kids colour fun run/fete or perhaps a new big fundraiser idea?!
Tuck Shop Co-ordinator
- Oversees the running of the Tuckshop by preparing rosters at the beginning of each term, determining and ordering food items and organising Tuckshop price lists.
Other than the President role, each of the above roles may be shared between more than one parent.
Being part of the PFA is an opportunity to be involved in your child’s school community and initiatives that support the education and wellbeing of children at OHR.
We are mostly full-time workers, juggling multiple kids activities and yet are committed to finding the energy to be involved in a way that can enrich the OHR community!
