Remembrance Day Poem

By Mia C  3/4M

Down they fall but not forgotten, lost in the dark and gloomy smoke that fills the air.

Poppies bloomed as soldiers watched each other sacrifice themselves.

Men and women focused on their gun triggers trying to keep quiet. The dry grass blew in the cold night wind. Soldiers tried not to cry as they left their families for the war.

BOOM! BANG! The guns went off and soldiers covered their ears. Some did not return but some did.

Men and women should be proud of going to the war and coming back alive.

Down they fall but not forgotten.

If you are in the vicinity of Target Somerville, stop by and have a look at St Brendan's Christmas Tree Mrs Riddell and children submitted in the 'Centro Christmas tree' competition.
