Principals Report

Sue Carr

Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of St Brendan’s,

As I attended yesterday’s assembly hosted by the Green Team, I was struck by the desire to stop and reflect on how far we have travelled together in the 2024 school year. The members of the team proudly listed the jobs they had done together, the things they had learned and the progress they had made. Working together in teams certainly has many benefits both for individuals and for the collective group.

The benefits include::

  • Working together
  • Learning together
  • Celebrating together

These are the things that make families, classes and communities great. These are the things that cause communities to grow strong. When I reflect on the year that is rapidly coming to a close, I feel that there is so much to celebrate. I want to thank you all for the many ways you have been part of the St Brendan’s community this year. While we are not quite at the end of the year, I think it is really important to stop, take stock and be grateful for the wonderful community we belong to at St Brendan’s.

A great deal of planning has gone into the staffing and the placement of students into classes for 2025. On Friday 6th December, all students at St Brendan’s will spend some time with their new teacher/teachers and their new class groups. In light of this, I would like to announce the staffing for 2025.

As we all know, change is often a challenge and one thing I know for sure is that change is inevitable.  I would like to encourage you to support your child/children to accept their class placement with a sense of curiosity and positivity. Children take their cues from those they love the most. Be positive and they will too.

I look forward to seeing you all at our final assembly, Christmas Carols and Christmas raffle draw  at Padua College on 12th December
