Year 9 Child Studies – Educational Toys

Year 9 Child Studies were tasked with designing and creating a toy for a child aged between 0-5. The toy had to be safe for the chosen age group and have an educational or developmental element. Mrs Palmer is proud to share photos of some of the toys below.

Year 9 Food Technology – Food for Special Occasions

Year 9 Food Technology completed their second Assessment task for the year for the unit Food for Special Occasions. They had to choose a celebration (social, historical or religious) and produce a dessert linked to that celebration, as well as submit a report.

They have done Ms Singh, Miss Russell, Mrs Stipanovic, Mrs Palmer & Mrs Duryea proud.

Year 12 Design & Technology Projects

Our Year 12 Design & Technology students have been working diligently this year on their HSC Major Design Projects. These projects showcase their skills in managing the design process—setting goals, researching, testing, problem-solving, and bringing creative ideas to life.

This year’s projects reflect both innovation and real-world application, including:

  • A new design proposal for Camden Leisure Centre

  • A sustainable high school environment

  • A supportive back brace for people with arthritis and mobility challenges

  • A weighted school jacket

  • A solar-powered letterbox to make house numbers easier to see at night

We are incredibly proud of the effort and creativity our students have demonstrated, and we congratulate them on their impressive achievements.

Year 12 Industrial Timber Projects

Our Year 12 Timber Class of ‘25 have had a super year! Successfully completing and producing their major projects and portfolios. This all began in term 4 last year when the class were asked to develop a project proposal which was presented to a panel that included the Principal, Head Teacher and class teacher. Each student individually presented their plans to the panel and fellow class mates recommendations were given by the panel at the conclusion of each presentation.

From here the work began, sourcing timber was the first major hurdle that most students faced as well as the higher than normal costs. This was a very tight knit cohort who worked collaboratively to help each other out.

The class should be extremely proud of the projects that were produced. Our focus now is to revise and practice for the HSC examination. This class has been an absolute pleasure to work with and I wish them all the very best for the HSC and beyond. ~ Mr O'Brien

Good Luck Year 12!

Year 12 TAS teachers would like to wish the Class of 2025 all the best with their upcoming HSC exams and beyond.
