Year 8 Visual Arts students have now wrapped up their clay sculpture unit and are diving into an exciting new project focused on Wearable Art.
In this unit, students will design and construct sculptural headpieces using cardboard, drawing inspiration from the striking costumes of The Lion King stage show and the innovative work of Torres Strait Islander artist Ken Thaiday (see images of the inspiration below).
This creative project encourages students to think about how art can be worn and performed, while exploring form, movement, and cultural expression. We’re excited to see what they create!
We are proud to congratulate our Year 12 Visual Arts students on the completion of their Body of Work!
Since Term 4, 2024, these students have worked with focus and determination to develop their ideas and bring their artworks to life. Throughout the process, they’ve developed concepts, explored materials and techniques, made creative decisions, and refined their skills to produce thoughtful, personal, and resolved artworks.
Their efforts have been impressive, and we look forward to sharing their finished pieces with the school community soon.
Well done, Year 12!
Year 7 have been busy working on their monster assessment tasks recently. First, they described a monster using Japanese, then we’ve used AI to generate an imaged on their description. Finally, they wrote a profile out about their monster in Japanese. You can see some examples here:
