Term 3 Highlights and What’s Ahead

This term has been a busy and rewarding one at Marian College. Our focus has been on strengthening learning and teaching, supporting student wellbeing, and building community. Highlights include:

  • Learning and Teaching – Continued work on curriculum design and the Science of Learning, ensuring high-quality, visible learning opportunities for all students.
  • Student Opportunities – Camps, excursions, subject selection processes, and co-curricular activities have given students rich experiences beyond the classroom.
  • Community and Faith – Liturgies, fundraisers, and social justice initiatives have brought our community together and deepened our commitment to living out our values.

Looking ahead to Term 4:

  • Microsoft Transition – Students and staff will complete the move to Microsoft platforms at the end of T4.  This will be supported by workshops and resources.
  • Assessment and Reporting – Students will be preparing for final assessments, exams, and showcase events.
  • Celebrations and Farewells – We look forward to acknowledging the achievements of our Year 12 students and celebrating the growth of all learners as the year draws to a close.

Preparing for Exams – Study Tips for Success

As exams approach, it’s important that students balance their study with rest, exercise, and time for family and friends. Some effective study practices include:

  • Plan ahead – Use a study timetable to break tasks into smaller, manageable goals.
  • Active recall – Test knowledge by practising with flashcards, past papers, or teaching someone else.
  • Spaced practice – Spread revision across several shorter sessions rather than cramming the night before.
  • Healthy balance – Ensure good sleep, regular breaks, and physical activity to keep energy and focus levels high.
  • Seek support – Encourage students to speak with their teachers if they need clarification or extra help.

Parents can assist by creating a calm environment for study, checking in regularly, and celebrating effort as much as achievement.

We thank families for their ongoing support and look forward to a productive and positive Term 4.
