Principal's Message

Welcome Back to Term 4!
Dear St Joseph’s Families,
A very warm welcome back to all our students, families, and staff for Term 4! We hope you all had a restful and enjoyable break and are ready for an exciting and productive end to the school year. Term 4 is always a busy one, packed with events, learning, and the festive spirit as we approach the holidays.
A Warm Welcome to Our New Staff
We are thrilled to introduce a wonderful new teacher who has joined our team for Term 4! Please join us in extending a huge welcome to Miss Jasmine Paris, who will be teaching in Stage 3. While her home is in Wollongong, she spent last term teaching at St. Edwards in Tamworth and she joins us with great enthusiasm. We are so happy she has made the move and is now part of our school community. We know she'll be a fantastic addition to our Stage 3 team.
Importance of Attendance and Punctuality
As we enter the final term, we want to remind everyone about the critical importance of regular school attendance and punctuality.
Attendance: Every day counts! Missing even one day a week can add up to a significant amount of lost learning time over the year. Please ensure your child attends school every day unless they are genuinely unwell. If your child is absent, please notify the school office by phone or email before 9:30 am.
Punctuality: Coming to school on time is vital. When students arrive late, they miss important instructions, disrupt the class, and can feel rushed and unsettled. Please aim to have your child at school well before the bell rings so they can organise their belongings, greet their friends, and be ready to start learning the moment class begins.
Your support in ensuring excellent attendance and punctuality helps your child achieve their best.
Focus on Student Wellbeing: The REDI.E Program
We are so proud and appreciative of the great work being done by our REDI.E Program team! This program continues to provide fantastic support to all our students:
- Free Daily Fruit: The REDIE Program is continuing to supply free fresh fruit daily for all students for fruit break.
- New School Hats: The REDIE Program will be purchasing a new school hat for every student! These new hats will be labelled and left at school to minimise loss and ensure every student has a hat for sun safety each day.
- Uniform and Travel Support: The REDIE Program also offers confidential support with new school uniforms and assistance with school drop-offs and pick-ups for families who need or would like it. If you or your family could benefit from support with either of these things, please contact Mrs. Fiechtner at the school office.
Enrolments and Kinder Transition
We are still taking Kindergarten enrolments for next year! If you have a child starting school in 2026 or know of a family who does, please contact the office as soon as possible to finalise their paperwork. Our official Kindergarten Transition Program starts next week! We are very excited to welcome our new students and their families to the school.
Dive into Reading: Our Book Fair!
Get ready to ride the reading wave! Our annual Book Fair is coming up in Week 4 of this term. The theme for this years book fair is Book Fair Beach: Catch the Reading Wave. The Book Fair will be a fantastic opportunity to stock up on great books for your children ready for Christmas and support our school library. The fair will be open to parents for purchasing books both before and after school on the designated days. Times will be advertised via Compass next week.
Reminder to purchase our Aprons, Tea Towels or Tote Bags on Compass App
As part of our ongoing school fundraising, the students and staff have drawn portraits of themselves which will be printed onto the promotional material as a memento of their time at St Joseph's. Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to own your own.
Blessings for the week ahead,
Donna
