Report
It’s been a wonderfully busy week here at school, with so much happening for both staff and students. We’re especially excited for next week, when we’ll all have the chance to come together for our school concert on Wednesday and Thursday evening. The students have been working incredibly hard on their performances, and we can’t wait to see them shine on stage. A big thank you also goes to Tanya D, Evie, Molly W and Abby for their amazing organisational efforts behind the scenes; their hard work is making it all possible.
Last week, on Thursday and Friday, we welcomed two representatives from the International Baccalaureate (IB) for our PYP verification visit. They spent time in classrooms seeing the amazing work our students are doing and the engaging learning experiences our teachers are creating. This visit marks the final step in our journey to becoming an accredited IB World School, and both students and staff performed incredibly well. I sincerely thank all of our teaching staff for the dedication, creativity and hard work they have put in over the past two years to reach this milestone. The IB representatives shared so many positive comments about our school, which is a true credit to the whole community.
A reminder that our Open Afternoon will be held next Wednesday from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm. This is a wonderful chance for families to come in, celebrate the students’ work, and see the learning they’ve been so proud of this term.
A big thank you to all the students who remembered to wear their hats last week! It’s great to see everyone being sun smart and taking care of themselves while out in the yard and during sporting events. Remember, hats are required whenever we’re outdoors, so please keep up the great effort.
The Policy and Curriculum, as well as the Community Engagement sub-committees, are currently looking for parent or carers to join their teams. These sub-committees play an important role in shaping different aspects of school life and are a great way to get involved in the FNPS community. Joining a sub-committee is a meaningful way to contribute without the larger time commitment required for School Council—plus, it’s a great way to connect with other families and staff. If you’re interested, come and chat to Tania or myself, or send us an email.
We’d love to hear your thoughts in the Parent Opinion Survey. Each family will have received a unique link via email to complete the survey. If you no longer have access to your link, please don’t hesitate to contact the office and we’ll happily send you another. Your feedback is so valuable in helping us continue to grow and improve as a school community.
Have a great week,
Joe.
