Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family Parents and Carers,
Happy Father’s Day
As I was preparing to write this newsletter, I became curious about the origins of Father’s Day. Interestingly, the celebration of fatherhood dates back to the Middle Ages, when it was observed on 19th March—coinciding with the feast day of Saint Joseph. While this tradition began within Catholic communities, it wasn’t until the early 20th century that Father’s Day began to be celebrated more widely across the globe.
Today, Father’s Day is a special occasion dedicated to honouring the love, dedication, and invaluable contributions of fathers and father figures in our lives. It’s a time to reflect on the countless ways they support, guide, and inspire us.
A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful Year 2 class parents who generously gave their time to plan and prepare the delicious Fathers' Day breakfast and fun games—it was a great way to start the day. I wish to also extend my deepest thanks to Mrs Stella, Mrs Gray and our dedicated teachers for organising such a meaningful and thoughtful liturgy.
Wishing all fathers and father figures a very happy and blessed Father’s Day!
Holy Family School Band Concert
Our talented Holy Family school band will be showcasing their learning and musical growth at a special evening concert next Monday at 6:00pm in MacKillop Hall. The band is supported by Teaching Services Australia (TSA) and is ably led by their conductor, Maddie, whose passion and guidance have helped our students flourish musically.
It’s always a joy to witness the enthusiasm and dedication of our students as they perform, and we warmly invite all parents and families to join us for this wonderful event.
Come and be part of the audience as we celebrate their hard work and musical achievements.
Stage 2 Netball Gala Day
Next Tuesday, our Stage 2 students will take part in an exciting Netball Gala Day. Over the past few weeks, the students have been developing their netball skills during weekly sports lessons with Mrs Coco, and they are now ready to hit the courts with energy and enthusiasm.
A sincere thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers who have generously offered their time to coach some of the teams. Your support is greatly appreciated—events like these simply wouldn’t be possible without you. We wish all our players the best of luck for a fun and active day of sport and teamwork.
Assembly Update
Please note that there will be no assembly next week due to the Stage 2 Netball Gala Day and the additional Zing Interschools Challenge dance practice. We look forward to resuming our regular assemblies in Week 10 and celebrating all the wonderful things happening in our school community.
Kindest regards,
Pauline Dinale
Principal
