Grade 4 Report

With the end of term just around the corner, we are winding up various units of learning which have seen some fun activities and lots of hard work by the students. They will be ready for a break.

Our Science Day was a hit. The incursion included plenty of activities and it seemed like the rubber balls were very popular. In another activity, we made ‘fireworks’ with food colouring and oil, while exploring how to write up a scientific experiment.

For many, the most popular activity was making robots. We have been discussing the properties of materials, as well as ways some materials can be reused. Students were able to investigate some of these concepts, but were mostly engaged with the fun of building their robot.

The idea of building robots connected with our Literature Unit, in which we have been reading The Wild Robot. To celebrate the end of this unit and the end of term, we will be watching the movie adaptation of the book on Friday.

The excitement is building for camp at the start of Term 4.  It’s great to have so many students signed up. Keep an eye out for more communication about camp over the next week.
