Grade 1 Report

Children in Grade 1 have had a wonderful time exploring 3-dimensional shapes and their properties. 

Throughout our maths sessions, we investigated faces, edges, and vertices. Each student worked hard to design a 3D shape pizza, transforming spheres, cylinders, cones, cubes, triangular prisms, and rectangular prisms into creative pizza toppings.

The children were delighted with how delicious their pizzas looked once completed and were thrilled to see their masterpieces proudly displayed in the Junior School Building. They also explored different 3D shapes in their environment and were amazed at how many could be found once they knew what to look for. 

After reading ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ students then went on a ‘shape hunt’ recording the different 3D objects in the classroom and playground.
