Science & Mathematics

Science 7-10
Our students have been engaged in hands-on physics projects that bring science to life.
Year 7 studied forces, creating electromagnets to explore magnetism and electricity firsthand.
Year 8 learned about energy transformations by designing toy contraptions demonstrating potential, kinetic, and other energy forms.
Year 9 focused on electricity, building circuits and learning about energy sources, including renewables.
Year 10 investigated motion, conducting experiments with parachutes and studying Newton’s laws, applying these concepts especially in sports contexts.
Across all levels, students have been applying theory through creative projects and experiments, sparking curiosity about the physical world.
Mathematics 7-10
This term, Years 7 to 10 have explored a range of mathematical concepts, building skills that connect classroom learning to real life.
Year 7 focused on algebra, probability, and data collection, simplifying expressions, calculating chances with coins and dice, and gathering and interpreting data through surveys and experiments.
Year 8 concentrated on data analysis and rates and ratios, learning to interpret graphs like bar charts and scatter plots, and solving problems involving speed, recipes, and scaling.
Year 9 extended their probability knowledge using tree diagrams, deepened data analysis skills with measures like mean and median, and explored financial maths including interest, loans, and budgeting.
Year 10 tackled geometry, calculating area, volume, and length, advanced data interpretation, and studied linear relationships, preparing them for future algebra and real-world applications.
Years 11 & 12 Mathematics and Science
Senior students have been busy preparing for their final exams and assessments. We wish them the very best in their study and look forward to their success.
