Term 1
This week the Year 3-6 students participated in pre-trials for Winter PSSA sports. Year 3 and 4 tried out for Soccer, AFL, and Netball, and Year 5 and 6 tried out for Soccer, AFL, Netball, and Newcombe Ball.
For the first time, students this year were given the opportunity to try out for multiple sports. Across the various try outs, students played games rotating through various teams, displaying their skills across a range of field positions. On Friday, Years 3-6 completed a final PSSA trial for their respective sports. AFL and Soccer trials occurred at Kingsdene Oval, and Netball and Newcombe Ball try outs took place at the Tennis Courts and Half Basketball Court.
Students who did not want to try out participated in Grade Sport activities with the classroom teachers.
Final PSSA team lists will be communicated in the coming weeks and students are urged to be patient while they wait to hear the results.
Students have been reminded to arrive promptly at the steps of the half basketball court at the start of their lesson, equipped with their hat and a full water bottle to ensure they remain hydrated.
Zone Swimming Carnival
On Monday, 9th March, we were delighted to attend the Zone Swimming Carnival at Waves Aquatic Centre in Baulkham Hills. We are very proud of our students for their outstanding participation, effort, and sportsmanship throughout the event. Their dedication and enthusiasm truly shone, making the day a memorable and successful experience for all involved.
Well done to the following students who will be representing our school at the Sydney West Swimming Carnival on Wednesday, 18th March. This is a fantastic achievement and testament to their hard work and commitment. We wish them the best of luck as they compete at the next level!

Table Tennis - Term 1, 2026
Table Tennis lessons will be offered by Paul Zhao's Table Tennis Academy before and after school at Carlingford West Public School on Tuesday and Thursday morning and afternoon. Catering for beginner to advanced standards.
Duration of each session will be 45 minutes and will be held in the School Hall corridor.
These sessions will be held before (8.30 ~ 9.15 am) also after (3.30 ~ 4.15 pm) school on Tuesdays or Thursdays from Week 1.
Bookings and enquiries are being taken. Catering for beginner to advanced standards.
