Dear Parents and Caregivers
Parent Partnerships: How Families Can Support Learning at Home
As partners in your child’s learning, families play a vital role in creating the conditions where curiosity, persistence and confidence can flourish. Genuine partnerships between school and home help students recognise that learning is valued, shared and celebrated.
With Parent–Student–Teacher Conversations approaching, this is an ideal time to talk with your child about their daily learning: What tasks are they enjoying? Which skills feel challenging? What strategies are helping them grow? Rather than focusing solely on formal reports, we encourage parents to engage in regular, low‑key conversations about classroom learning and upcoming assessments. Asking simple questions — What did you learn today? What are you preparing for? How can I support you? — helps students reflect on their progress and take ownership of their goals.
Term 1 Progress Reports will be released on Saturday 5 April via The Learning Dashboard (accessible through the Parent Portal and MyCE app). We encourage parents to take time to read reports with their child, focusing not only on academic results but also on the effort and learning behaviours noted by teachers. These conversations can help students set realistic goals and acknowledge achievements.
These shared conversations at home strengthen the partnership between school and families, ensuring each young person is supported academically, emotionally and spiritually. Thank you for continuing to walk alongside us in nurturing engaged, capable learners.
In faith, hope and love,
Janet Ross
