Walk and Wheel

Walk and Wheel to School Wednesdays Continue Year-Round
1 more sleep until National Ride 2 School Day tomorrow! Students are encouraged to ride, scoot, or walk to school and enjoy a healthy and active start to the day.
When they arrive, students will receive a sticker at the gate and then drop off their bike or scooter at the hall. Due to BPPS having so many participants each Walk and Wheel Wednesday, the Boroondara Council has recognised our efforts by giving us the smoothie bike again this year. Students will have an opportunity to pedal on the smoothie bike to make a smoothie. To avoid excessive plastic waste, we ask students to bring their own reusable plastic cup from home.
Afterwards, students choose a piece of fresh fruit and then head off to the classroom. They will also enjoy a ride around the oval and a scoot on the basketball court at lunchtime.
We would like to congratulate the following students for winning our BPPS school colouring competition!
Prizes:
• 1st Prize — Gavin 5/6T 5000 house points
• 2nd Prize — Olvin 5/6MB 2500 house points
• 3rd Prize — Chantel 1/2AO 1000 house points
You can see their entries on display outside the First Aid room, and other entries displayed around the school.
Walk and Wheel to School Wednesdays will continue throughout the year! Starting the day with a walk, bike ride, or scooter trip to school provides a range of benefits. Not only do students arrive feeling energized and ready to learn, but it also supports their physical and emotional well-being. With the warmer weather and increased UV-levels, it's important to remember to be Sun Smart when out and about.
Walking or wheeling to school can be a fun social activity, an opportunity for students to connect with friends and even make new ones along the way. Plus, fewer car trips mean less traffic congestion around the school and a positive impact on our environment.
And remember—walking or wheeling to school isn’t just for Wednesdays! Every day can be a walk and wheel day.
Kind regards,
Heidi Roast and Bella O’Hoy
