Stage 2

As our school year comes to an end, Stage 2 teachers would like to thank you for your continued support in nurturing your child’s love for learning and regular attendance. We wish you a safe and enjoyable break with your loved ones and look forward to welcoming the students back in 2026.  

English

This term in our English sessions, students have had opportunities to explore narrative texts more deeply, focusing on narrative structure and imagery. Due to the high levels of engagement and lively discussions, Stage 2 will finish the term by studying the second book in The Callers series. This sequel continues the thrilling adventure and deepens the story's exploration of the mysterious world introduced in the first book.

Mathematics

Our mathematics sessions over the past few weeks have been a highlight, offering rewarding learning experiences for our students. Students have actively shared feedback with teachers and expressed pride in learning a range of multiplicative strategies. The rich, engaging discussions during these lessons have been highly positive, with students confidently articulating efficient methods for solving multiplication and division problems. As we conclude the term, Stage 2 will focus on addition and subtraction, as well as further exploring fractions to continue building mathematical skills.

Wellbeing

As part of our whole school wellbeing approach, students have actively engaged with PAX and Berry Street strategies throughout the year. These programs have helped them deepen their understanding of their feelings and emotions while fostering positive behaviours and creating supportive, inclusive classrooms. Stage 2 teachers are proud of the students for embracing our PAX values and demonstrating their ability to build meaningful connections during our morning circle interactions.

We hope to see you at our Celebration of Learning next week, where students will have their final opportunity for the year to proudly share their hard work.
