Ivanhoe primary school was a hive of activity throughout November with various well-planned activities going on. Firstly, what a success the fair was. Ivanhoe Primary managed to raise over fifty thousand dollars to go towards many improvements for the school. English club is continuing to thrive with many students still coming into the Beehive at lunch on Tuesdays to enjoy some quiet reading or work. The grade sixes are still competing in (intra-school) sport (although the competition is no longer against other schools), and everyone is really enjoying the three rotations of different sports. During last month the grade two’s presented their fabulous ‘egg-laying animals’ projects. The praise of these amazing presentations was much deserved due to the hard work these students put in to making them. To finish off week nine we had international day. There were so many interesting and fun activities for students to try. Students are also eagerly anticipating and awaiting to find out who their teacher and classmates will be for 2026. Over the last few weeks, the teachers and this year’s house captains have been in the process of selecting next year’s house captains. In November the year fours went on their first ever camp at IPS to Alexandra Adventure Resort and they had a brilliant time. Another successful project presentation occurred during last month; that was the grade six Day of Democracy. Students presented their knowledge based on a chosen Australian democracy topic. Finally, on Wednesday the 3rd of December, IPS hosted the ‘Night of Music’, for all of the students who participate in the Ivanhoe Primary strings program.

With all of this going on at IPS there is never a dull moment to be seen.

They helped deliver the assembly and took on several other very important responsibilities, including visiting classrooms, assisting with yard duty, and making sure teachers and office staff were performing their roles to the high IPS standard.

They presented certificates in recognition of the recent Australian Maths Competition as well as ribbons to our Students of the Week.
