Welcome to Term 3!
We hope you had a relaxing term break and that everyone is feeling refreshed and ready for a productive Semester 2.
Although we’ve only been back at school for just under two weeks, the term break already feels like a distant memory—there’s been a lot happening!
Term 3 is a crucial time of year as we begin preparing for 2026. This includes planning for staffing, Positions of Responsibility, subject selections, and timetabling for the year ahead.
In the first week of Term 3, we launched straight into family information sessions for Years 8–9, 9–10, 10-11. These sessions aimed to equip families with the necessary information to help students understand pathways and VCE structures, and to guide them through elective and subject selections for 2026.
The week concluded with Course Counselling sessions for students moving from Year 10 to Year 11. Trained staff met with students and their parents to support them in making informed subject choices for 2026. A big thank you to all staff who facilitated both the information sessions and counselling meetings.
A reminder:
This week, we had the pleasure of attending the annual Winter Concert—a fantastic evening that showcased a wide range of musical talent from our students, along with a special performance by the Staff Band! Thank you to all students who performed, and to Kirsty Mechielsen and her team for making the event a success.
Term 3 is traditionally one of the busiest periods of the school year, particularly for our VCE students. During this term, students work through the bulk of their course content and outcomes for Units 2 and 4. We strongly encourage students to stay organised by keeping up to date with their work and seeking support from teachers when needed. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle through balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and adequate sleep is equally important in managing the demands of study and staying focused throughout the term.
Finally, a reminder to families about the approaching Learning and Wellbeing Conferences on August 28th. Please keep an eye out for further information about this important event, where you and your child have the opportunity to discuss their progress with their Teachers.
On behalf of the Principal Team, we look forward to another successful term ahead!
