What a beautiful, full week we have had at BNWPS this past week!

Wakakirri

On Wednesday 23rd July, almost 120 of our students partici[pated in the Wakakirri Story Dance festival at the Clocktower in Moonee Ponds. Through dance, our students told a beautiful story called ‘The Purple Princess and the Castle of Boxes’ . The story explored the limits and boxes that society puts around us, and how we can break out of these boundaries. The Wakakirri hosts had the following to say about our beautiful performance;

“A spectacular tale of using inner strength to find your true self.

Complex partnerwork, clever acrobatics, gorgeous costumes and effective props. This was a blockbuster effort! Shout out to the backstage crew who worked like true professionals! Amazing job all round!”

Our students performed beautifully on stage, but also demonstrated team work, patience, care, compassion and empathy throughout the entire day of rehearsals, waiting and backstage shenanigans.

A huge congratulations to the students who participated, and to Jenny who worked with all of our students to put such a beautiful and important story and performance together.

100 Days of Foundation

Last Thursday, Foundation students celebrated their first 100 days at ‘big school’. This is a special day for Foundie students as it marks the completion of 100 days of learning. Students reflected on their learning and celebrated their achievements. To celebrate the special occasion students dressed up in costumes. They engaged in fun activities centered around the number 100.

Congratulations to all Foundie students for their 100th day of study this school year and all the wonderful learning completed!

Trivia Night

On Saturday evening our CET group hosted our annual adults Trivia Night. Huge fun was had by all who attended, with some truly amazing and imaginative costumes based on the theme of ‘Winter Wonderland’ . A massive thanks goes to the CET group and their supports for all of the big and small jobs they did to make the night the success that it was.

NAPLAN Reports

Students in grades 3 and 5, who sat NAPLAN earlier this year will receive their individual NAPLAN reports through the mail this week. We would like to congratulate all of our year three and five students and teachers for their massive efforts towards NAPLAN this year. If you have any questions about your child’s NASPLAN results, please speak with your child’s teacher. If you do not receive any results in the mail, please speak to a member of the admin team.

Foundation 2026

There are many families in our community who have children that will be starting school at BNWPS in 2026. We would like to thank those families who have already enrolled their children. If you have not yet done this, please chat to a member of the Front Office admin team , and they will support you. If you have any questions or want to share any information in the lead up to your child’s enrollment, we would love to chat with you. If this applies to your family, or anyone that you know, please give our office a call (9386 4624) to organise a tour with some of our senior students and a chat with Keir or Emma.

Reports

Last Friday, Semester One reports were sent out to families. Reports are a snapshot of the learning students have been doing in the classroom and whilst they don’t convey the richness of learning that happens every day, it is a nice chance to reflect and celebrate all the learning that has happened over the first half of the school year.

When you click on your child’s report, the link for it may disappear. If this happens, once the link is gone you can access it by clicking on your child's profile. Then click on 'Student details'. In there, you will see a drop down box for 'Academic Reports'. Here is where you can find all of your children's reports. If there is anything you want to discuss in regards to your child’s report or their learning, please speak to your child’s teacher.
