Post School of Rock!!

This year, the Senior Band attended School of Rock and performed alongside 13 other schools. We had lots of fun experiences, and played three songs: Cotton-Eye Joe, Wonderwall, and Don’t Worry, Be Happy.

A gigantic shout-out to Denis for organizing this and taking the time to teach us and going out of his way to make the band improve in many ways. We think Denis is the best music teacher in the school. His kindness reaches beyond our whole school put together. WE LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH DENIS!!!!

Let's hear what some people thought.

  • Tom: I had the time of my life at School of Rock. All the bands were really amazing and we got to hear new songs (some of them were original!) and dance to songs we’ve known and loved for years. The experience of performing was a really unique experience. It is overall really different to performing at school rather than an actual stage with proper lighting and everything. My favourite part was the applause we got afterwards. Everyone was clapping and cheering, and it was fabulous soaking in that wondrous. If you ever get the chance to go to School of Rock, take it. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
  • Nolan: It was an incredible experience, and it felt like I was at an actual gig once the high school students started playing. (No offence to every single one of the people that went to School of Rock and weren’t high school students.) The creativity and engagement of every single student, teacher, and parent/carer was phenomenal. 5 stars
  • Luca: School of Rock was the time of my life I loved listening to music, performing, and hanging out with my friends it was so fun.
  • Abel: I know I will miss going to School of Rock because of the people there and the community. It was great to clap, dance, and sing to the songs. It was so awesome how, at the start, the first school literally taught us how to sing their song, and another school even gave them their band to use for their song.
  • Eugene: I had an amazing experience; it was once in a lifetime. I didn’t miss a beat. I felt really privileged listening and performing music in a million-dollar venue.
  • Ivy:  School of Rock was a super fun experience. We went to enjoy ourselves and learn, and that's what we did.
  • Charlotte:  I thought that School of Rock was an experience of a lifetime. it was great to perform in front of other people and get up there to express the musical and creative side of ourselves. I thank Denis truly for putting in the work; it was an amazing day. Peace out!!!!!!
  • Maya: School of Rock was really fun, and I enjoyed singing in front of a crowd. It felt good to watch and learn, then get up there ourselves! Thanks, Denis, for taking us out there to perform. It was an experience I could never forget.
  • Levi:  School of Rock is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for people who like music and want to join in.
