Biz - E - Kidz Update

From Libby & the Biz-E-Kidz Team

Winter wonderland

We hope your Winter Holidays were cosy and peaceful and you’re feeling somewhat recharged for Term 3.A big highlight from the Biz-E-Kidz Winter Holiday Program was an excursion with all year levels together to our local Nature Play Adventure Playground at Royal Park.

The weather was warm and sunny enough to allow us to use the water play area, which is a huge crowd favourite. Children dam the water with a built-in mechanism that they reinforce with a wall of sand and then open the dam and crush the wall in one go to flood a big sandpit below. It is a suspenseful game and all ages love to join in or spectate (including some toddlers in gumboots).

Another highlight was not one but two visits from our resident Scientist and ex-Biz-E-Kid Parent, Sean from Rough Science! Children learnt about the science behind slime and, in another incursion, built earthquake-proof structures.

We are so lucky to have Sean as part of our community - he is a true Educator and his passion and curiosity for all things science really benefits our kids.A new in-house activity we tried out was doing a Bob Ross painting tutorial as a group. Bob Ross is an American painting instructor who used to have a TV show. We found an episode in which he instructs his audience in painting a sunset and you can see the photo for our results!

Welcome back for Term 3 everyone!
