Busy Term 3 ahead
State Cross Country
Congratulations to Jaz (6B), who has shown outstanding dedication and athleticism in cross country running this year. Jaz’s hard work and perseverance paid off with an exceptional performance at last week’s Cross Country State Championships, where she proudly finished in the top 20 across the entire state. A fantastic achievement and a testament to Jaz’s determination and commitment to excellence in improving her results from year to year. Well done, Jaz!
Prep PMP Program
What a wonderful start to our Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) we had in Semester One. To continue to be able to provide such a successful and meaningful program for our Prep students, we require many parent helpers to be able to assist each Wednesday afternoon. A lack of parent support recently has meant that we needed to cancel a PMP session for the students. A huge thank you to the Prep parents and teachers that have assisted the PE team in getting this off the ground for our Preps so far in 2025.
We are after parent helpers in Term 3. PMP is delivered every Wednesday between 2:30pm and 3:30pm in the Molesworth Campus Gymnasium. If you can assist, could you please add your name to the shared document whenever you are available by completing this PMP Volunteer Google Form. All parent helpers will require a current Working With Children’s Check as well as be asked to read through and complete the NMPS Volunteer Induction Form.
Term 3 NMPS Sports Events
Building on last years successful events, we are pleased to announce three sport events coming up at NMPS in Term 3.
Senior House Athletics Days
- We are very excited to announce our Year 3-6 House Athletics Days again in 2025, which will be split across two days to ensure that the students have the opportunity to compete in each and every event. Both events will be held at our Errol St Campus.
- Our Year 5 and 6 event will be held on Friday 8th August
- Our Year 3 and 4 event will be held on Friday 15th August
- Please note, we have needed to swap the 3/4 and 5/6 dates to avoid a clash with another Year 6 event.
- Students will take part in a number of athletic related events
- A timetable of the events will be sent out closer to the dates
- Parents are welcome to come to school to spectate and will be asked to do so in designated spectator areas for safety purposes
- Students will compete for House Points, with the winning House announced at the end of the day.
- Students are encouraged to wear their House Colours on the day.
Junior Sports Day
- Our 2025 Junior Sports Day will be held on Friday 12th September at our Molesworth St Campus
- We would love for students to come dressed up in their House colours.
- A timetable of the event will be sent out closer to the dates
- We would love some parent involvement with this, so if you can assist and hold a current valid Working With Children’s Check, please email your child’s PE teacher!
We look forward to your support with these three events and look forward to a fun, friendly, but competitive NMPS Sports Days!
Term 3 PE
To start the term, our Junior classes will be focusing on movement challenges, where they will use known movements and equipment to work on improving their balance and stability.
Our Senior students will this week begin a multi week unit on Gamification, where they will be working in small groups to create games and activities to share with their class.
