âMaths
Grade One:
âď¸ âStudents will continue to explore the concepts around multiplication and division.
They will do this through sharing a number of collections, skip counting and recording number sentences.
Â
What can you do at home?
Talk with your child about making equal groups using everyday objects (like fruit, buttons, or socks). Practise sharing things fairly between people (e.g., "Letâs share these 12 grapes between 4 peopleâhow many does each person get?"). Use words like âgroups of,â âshared between,â and âequal partsâ to build their understanding in a fun and natural way. Practise counting and skip counting patterns.
Â
Grade Two:
âď¸ âStudents will continue to explore the concepts around multiplication and division.
The students will continue to use hands-on materials, visual models, and explore these concepts through real-life contexts. Students will be making equal groups, arrays, and exploring the connection that multiplication has to repeated addition.Â
Â
What can you do at home?
Support your childâs understanding of multiplication and division by exploring everyday situations involving equal groups and sharing. For example, ask questions like: âIf we have 3 plates with 4 cookies on each, how many cookies altogether?â or âCan we share these 18 blocks equally between 3 people?â Encourage your child to use drawings, skip counting, or grouping objects to solve problems and talk through their thinking.

đ§âđť Cyber SafetyÂ
This term we will be exploring Cyber Safety.Â
Our focus this week will be how to stay safe online and understand why we keep our personal information private.
Â
đ CBL - ChangeÂ
This term our whole school will be celebrating our school's 130th birthday. Our CBL big idea, Change, lends itself to discovering a lot about how Wonga Park has changed over this time.Â
Â
Students have engaged with two incredible films created by Mrs B, which explore the rich history of Wonga Park from the late 1800s through the 1900s. Through these films, students have developed a deeper understanding of what life was like for the early settlers, including families, students, and farmers. They have been especially fascinated by the historical photographs of our school and local surroundings, sparking curiosity and connection to the past
Â
đ School Wide Positive Behaviour: We will continue to be kind, be safe and be a learner especially when playing outside during playtimes.Â
