Student Leaders

On the 29th of July, our Grade 6 Sport House Captains excitedly headed off to Hoop Time with the Grade 3/4s. As one of the major events for House Captains this year, they were excited to each Coach and Mentor a team. It was a great opportunity for them to display their leadership skills and to continue building connections with the younger students.

Last week, the Grade 3 to 6 students attended Athletics for some friendly competition against their class in a range of track and field activities. The track activities included the 800 and 200 metre races, and the favourite, the 100m sprint. The field events included long jump, triple jump, high jump, discus, shot put, and javelin, in which we threw foam javelins. We wish the lucky Grade 4, 5 and 6s good luck as they move on to district in the coming weeks.

In the past few weeks the Prep, Three, Four, Five and Six students have been working hard to prepare for our upcoming production of ’Matilda Junior.’ The grade Fives and Six’s have been busy learning their lines, blocking scenes and practicing songs. A couple of days ago, we found out which night we will be performing on, and so now we are working in our casts. It has been amazing to see the show come together. In the next 3 weeks, we will be learning choreography, trying on costumes and working on the actual stage. We can't wait!

This Friday, Grade 5 and 6 students are heading off on an adventure to Clifford Park Scouts Activity Centre. Here, we will spend the morning exploring the natural world, enriching our minds and knowledge surrounding nature, sustainability and the Wonga Park environment. This will help to expand our knowledge of endemic trees and plants, helping us to achieve our CBL challenge for this term.
