Level 3 & 4

Week 4, Term 3

Classroom Learning Updates

CBL

We have been tuning into the history of our school, looking at photographs and creating timelines. Students will be learning about school life in the past, exploring what learning and play were like for children and teachers.

Wellbeing

In Wellbeing, we are revising our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS). Students continue to receive tokens for displaying positive behaviours. We are also continuing our important work on the Respectful Relationships program.

Reading

Things are getting nautical in Grades 3 and 4 as we dive into Kensuke’s Kingdom. Our main character, Michael, is about to head off on his sailing adventure. Students are learning about different types of boats and the language of sailing to support their comprehension and retelling of the text. To support at home please continue regular reading aiming for 20 minutes per day.

Writing

We are working on factual recounts, with students beginning to create a newspaper report about Athletics Day. They will be focusing on using both direct and indirect quotations from interviews and will publish their work as handwritten newspaper reports. Families may enjoy looking at or reading newspaper reports together and noticing the structure, language and tone of this genre.

Maths

Students are continuing to work on multiplication and division. We encourage families to support their child by practising multiplication facts at home — even a few minutes a day can make a big difference!
