Student Empowerment

At Banyan Fields Primary School, we’re proud to be building not just learners but kind, respectful and resilient people. This term, students will be focusing on challenging gender stereotypes and building positive gender relationships. Helping students to better understand themselves and others, and to treat everyone with kindness and respect.
We will be using Class Dojo across the whole school to recognise and reinforce the positive behaviours we see every day. This aligns closely with our school values of Tenacity, Equity, Synergy and Stewardship—our TESS values.
To support and celebrate positive behaviour, we are using Class Dojo across the school. Students are recognised with Dojo points when they demonstrate the TESS values in everyday situations:
- Tenacity – when students persist through challenges in their learning, problem-solving, or when reflecting on how to treat others fairly.
- Equity – when they make sure everyone has a voice, challenge unfairness, or show compassion and care for those who need support.
- Synergy – when they collaborate respectfully, work well in a team, and contribute positively to the classroom and playground culture.
- Stewardship – when they take pride in looking after their learning spaces, looking out for others, and making responsible choices that support our school community.
These values are not just words on a poster—they are part of our daily conversations and actions. Students are learning that respectful relationships are built over time through empathy, understanding, and shared responsibility.
