A Prayer for Wisdom in the Digital Age

Loving God,Guide us as we walk with our children through the ever-changing digital world.Grant us wisdom to understand, courage to ask questions, and patience to teach with love and clarity.May our homes be places of safety, respect, and truth.Help us nurture hearts that seek what is good and minds that discern what is right.Amen.

Supporting Parents in the Digital Age: Free Webinar on AI and Online Safety

As technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace, many of us—particularly as parents and carers—are left wondering how to best support our children in navigating the digital world safely and ethically. Artificial Intelligence (AI), in particular, has become a growing part of our children’s online lives, from generative tools to AI companion apps, and it is vital that we understand both the opportunities and challenges these developments bring.

I’m pleased to share that Catholic Network Australia (CNA), in partnership with the Cyber Safety Project, is offering a free webinar titled “AI & the Digital Generation” on Monday 11 August 2025, from 7.30 to 8.00 pm. This session is designed specifically for parents and carers of primary and secondary school students.

The webinar will explore important topics including:

  • How AI tools and companion apps are being used by young people
  • The rise of deepfakes and online misinformation
  • Keeping AI use safe at home
  • Legal and ethical aspects of AI use

Importantly, the session will provide you with practical strategies to:

  • Better understand the tools your child may be using
  • Build confidence in discussing AI, deepfakes, and digital truth
  • Encourage safe and ethical online behaviours

We strongly encourage all families to take advantage of this valuable opportunity. It’s a small investment of time for what we believe will be a significant step forward in digital awareness and online safety.

Together, we can continue to support our children to be not just confident users of technology, but responsible and ethical digital citizens.
