JP Racing 2023
Update
Our annual JP Racing Program is heading into its final stages in preparation for our main event in Maryborough, Victoria in November as part of the Energy Breakthrough Challenge. https://www.eb.org.au/
The JP Racing Program and Energy Breakthrough Challenge is an exciting opportunity which involves students in the senior school, teachers, parents and local industry to work together to design and construct a vehicle, a machine or innovation in technology that will represent an energy breakthrough. Each team will compete in 3 components of the program, A Presentation to Judges, a demonstration their knowledge about the vehicles and finally the race.
One of the main objectives of our program is all about inclusion and encouraging as many students to participate each year as possible. This year is no exception. Jells Park will be taking away our largest group of students ever, 56 in total comprising of 45 Level 6’s, 7 Level 5’s and 2 Level 4 girls. This is also the first time we have included Level 4’s into the program.
This year we have included 4 HPV teams (Never done before) and 3 pushcart teams. The students have worked hard on their fitness, knowledge of the program and vehicles and our teams have now been finalised. Teams are currently working on their Presentations and putting the information together to present to the judges at the event.
This program has continued to grow over the years and this would not be able to run without our yearly sponsors. A special mention to our major sponsors this year for your generosity towards our program. It has enabled us to:-
- Purchase 2 new HPV vehicles
- Upgrade our current HPV and Pushcart vehicles to make them faster and more reliable
- Upgrade our safety and camping equipment
- Purchase extended team uniforms for the students
A big thank you to:
