Year 12 News

Kristen Pfitzner & Nick Rigas | Year 12 Coordinators

Well done to those Year 12 students who attended revision or practice exam sessions at school throughout the Term 3 break. It was wonderful to see many individuals taking full advantage of these additional opportunities.

Congratulations to the students involved in our first external exams. The Year 12 German students were first to formally commence their end of year exams, with their external oral assessment in Ballarat on the 5th of October.

Last days of school

A reminder that the last official day of Year 12 classes is Tuesday 17th October. On Wednesday 18th a barbeque breakfast will be prepared for the Year 12 cohort to celebrate the official end of their time at school.

With the formal conclusion of classes, we encourage all students to continue to maintain contact with their teachers during the revision period to receive feedback on practice exams or individual support.

Student activities

The student activities for these celebration days include a staff vs students dodgeball game, student picnic and decorating the school. It will be great to see our cohort celebrating their achievements this year.

Unscored students

For those students completing an unscored VCE, it is important that you complete all Work Requirements to a satisfactory standard. Please continue to check in with your teachers to determine if you have gained an ‘S’ result.

Exits

All students are only able to exit once they submitted the required paperwork to Ms Twaddell, which includes having a confirmed pathway. This also applies to all Vocational Major students. It is important for VM students to gain credits in all units and complete the required 90 hours of VET.

Wellbeing support & Doctor in Schools

We would like to reiterate to all students that they are able to access not only careers’ advice but also wellbeing support with Hamish Roberts and our DiSS until the formal end of the Horsham College school year in December. We encourage students to take full advantage of these opportunities.

Valedictory Dinner

Information regarding the Valedictory Dinner to be held on Friday 15th December at 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start will be distributed soon. We look forward to celebrating the achievements of all 2023 Year 12 students on this evening.
