Principal for a Day

Principal For a Day

We were Principals for the day.

As principal, we were on yard duty out the front saying good morning to everyone.  After that we talked about our day with Mr Wight and what it will be like to be the principal for the day. Mrs Roose took us around to classrooms and introduced us Principal Auld, which was hard for the students to say. While in the classroom we interviewed students about Friendology. We used a Google form to collect their answers about Friendology.

We asked students the questions.

  1. Does your class have Friendology lessons? and 100% said YES.
  2. Which Friendship fact do you remember or use the most? – Here are the results.

Friendship Fact 1 – No Friendship is Perfect – 33%

Friendship Fact 2 – Every Friendship is Different – 22%

Friendship Fact 3 – Trust and Respect are the two most important qualities of a friendship – 11%

Friendship Fact 4 – Friendship change and that’s OK – 33%

We talked about the results with all the other principals and we were all really happy that all classes have Friendology lessons and students are learning about how to take care of their friendships.

After recess, we wrote the newsletter article with Mrs Mowat. The things we are looking forward to for the rest of the day are making announcements over the loudspeaker (Principal Hannah Auld) and going to every classroom and seeing what they are doing (Principal Liam Auld). We hope we do not have to solve any arguments between two kids.

If we were able to make a change to the school as the Principals, we would make another playground for all of the grades to play on because some people want to play with other aged friends on the one playground – Principal Liam Auld

To build another soccer pitch near the portables because there have been arguments on the soccer pitch, and this will spread people out to play – Principal Hannah Auld

Our message as principals today is: Make sure you look after your friends and use the Friendology Facts. We recommend you persuade your parents to try and let you be principals for the day because you might never get this opportunity anywhere else, and it is really fun.
