Numeracy Week (Tuesday 29 August - Monday 4 September) saw some spectacular mathematical flair, as our Year 7 students participated in a thrilling Times Table Competition and the Pi Precision Challenge was opened to all students.
Times Table Competition
We held the grand final for the Times Table Competition on Friday 1 September at lunch time. From all six Year 7 Mathematics classes, the top student emerged to compete for the coveted title of Times Table Champion. The finalists, representing their respective classes, were:
The atmosphere was electric as our finalists battled it out. The competition was fierce, but friendly, and it was incredible to see so many Year 7 students, as well as students from other year groups, gather to enthusiastically cheer on the competitors.

Congratulations to all the participants for showcasing their outstanding multiplication skills, and to Juan Esteban for clinching the title!
Pi Precision Challenge
A group of enthusiasts dived deep into the depths of π (pi) during the Pi Precision Challenge. It's time to unveil the champions who showcased their commendable numerical recall.
First place: Congratulations to Shelna Sony (Year 11), who displayed impeccable precision, recalling π (pi) correctly up to a jaw-dropping 122 decimal places.
Runners up: Congratulations to Cherie Zak (Year 7), correctly recalling 106 decimal places, to Elizabeth Brosztl (Year 9), correctly recalling 100 decimal places, and to Jeann Valdez (Year 12), correctly recalling 82 decimal places.
Honourable mention: Congratulations to Shamoon Jehangiri (Year 12) who showcased his π (pi) prowess, recalling 30 decimal places.
Staff participation: Congratulations to Mrs Sylvia Matchado who correctly recalled 100 decimal places.
It was a close competition and we're in awe of the our students precision. Thank you to our other participants, Theodore Ciungwanara (Year 12) and Emmeline Adiguna (Year 9).
