Final Day of Year 12 Classes

As Term 3 drew to a close for our Year 12 students, many have come to realise the Class of 2023 Graduation is only a few weeks away. For some students, this brings feelings of anticipation, for other a sense of loss, but for all students it is the start of an exciting journey into the adult world. The final day of Year 12 classes on Wednesday 20 September reflected a mixture of enthusiasm, relief and at times, sadness. Many Year 12 students took the opportunity to thank their teachers and to write them ‘Thank You’ cards reflecting their appreciation for the contribution that the staff and community of St Norbert College have made to the lives of these outstanding young men and women.

Important Year 12 Reminders

  • Year 12 ATAR students will commence their final school exams in the first week of the school holidays. Students are required to wear their summer uniform to their mock-ATAR exams but if the weather is cold, they are allowed to wear their jumpers or alternatively bring their Leavers Jackets to wear in the exam. Year 12 exams conclude on Wednesday 4 October.
  • Some Vocational students may be required to attend school during the exam break to complete their Certificates or outstanding class work and assessments. Those students and their families have been sent a communication informing them of this requirement.
  • Year 12 ATAR students are required to return to the College on Monday 9 October for the return and review of their exams.
  • All Year 12 students are to return to the College on Friday 13 October for their Farewell House assembly and for the rehearsal for the Graduation Assembly. Students will be dismissed once these have been completed.
  • The Year 12 examination review sessions will take place between Monday 16 October and Thursday 19 October. These sessions are compulsory for all ATAR students. Students have already been given details about the schedule for the review sessions and students are required to wear their summer uniform
  • The Year 12 Farewell Breakfast occurs on Friday 20 October at 8.00am in the Ludolph Court. Students are required to wear their summer uniform to school that day. Students can wear their Leavers Jacket on the day with their summer uniform.
  • The Farewell Assembly will proceed after the conclusion of the Breakfast and will commence at 9.00am in the O’Reilly Centre.
  • At the conclusion of the Farewell Assembly, Year 12 students will head to St Joseph’s Church to rehearse for the Graduation Mass and Ceremony. Students will be dismissed at the conclusion of the rehearsal and after any associated announcements.
  • Graduation Mass commences at 6.30pm sharp in St Joseph’s Church. Students will be required to assemble in their designated House area before 5.45pm.
  • Students are required to wear their full winter uniform to the Graduation Mass and Ceremony. I highly recommend that uniforms are washed, ironed and blazers are dry-cleaned for this important occasion. Students have also been reminded of the need to have haircuts and styles that conform to the College regulations in order to participate in the Graduation events.
