Kambala Hosts Project Zero Australia Network Conference

The sun was shining last Saturday at Kambala, and we were delighted to welcome over 250 delegates to our school for the Project Zero Australia Network Conference. Teachers and Leaders poured in from various states and across school sectors and associations to participate.

The conference featured a keynote from Kambala’s own Academic in Residence Dr Ron Ritchhart, who spoke about his new book Cultures of Thinking in Action. Following that, 25 workshops were held in various learning spaces across the School, inviting participants to join in understanding how to create learning opportunities to support the creation of a culture of thinking.

Congratulations to Lauren Walsh, Greta Beaumont, Himmi Cheruvu and Olivia McAtamney who presented on Choice and Collaboration: Could these be the threads in a rich tapestry of thinking?

Thank you to our families who so generously donated baked goods for our students to sell on the day, raising money for two student-selected charities Sister2Sister and Yalari. We couldn’t be prouder of our student volunteers in their representation of Kambala.

Kambala continues its involvement in networks such as this, taking joy in showing our commitment to Project Zero principles and philosophies and the professional learning completed by our staff this year.

Congratulations Tina Bramis

Tina Bramis (Dean of Accreditation and Registration) has been appointed to two roles to provide quality educational and professional leadership and experience.

Tina has become an assessor with NESA for the accreditation of Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher. This is a structured accreditation process for recognising quality teachers in NSW. Tina is committed to supporting our teachers through their accreditation at Kambala, so it is wonderful to have her involved in the sector more broadly. Tina has also started as a tertiary supervisor for Initial Teacher Education for the National School of Education Australian Catholic University, providing additional support to pre-service teachers through placements and course work.

Congratulations Tina!
