Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program

The year 4s have started their term in the garden. They will be rotating around in groups doing different activities. One activity is to redesign a garden tool of their choice and make it better. Congratulations to Sebastian, Billy, Olivia and Ava who reinvented the pitchfork. In their new design, the pitchfork has a retractable handle to make it longer or shorter and a cover to protect people from the sharp prongs. They also included metal that never rusts and a foam handle for comfort. I would buy one of them!

Congratulations to Charlotte, Coco, Nithum, Prathik and Quinn on getting their wheelbarrow licenses.

In the kitchen we talked about safety with hot ovens, and knives. Our cooking this week had a Japanese theme and the students cooked Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancakes), Japanese Seeded Brown Rice Salad, Poached Pears, and flat bread.
