Junior School

It has been a terrific start back to school after the holidays!

Beginning from Day One of Term 4, the Preps, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students had a visit from an old friend – Harold the Giraffe!

In Years 1 and  2, students learnt about safety and how they can be safe and improve their safety in everyday life. They learnt about the people who keep them safe and the places they can go to be safe as well.

Year 1 Late Stay & Year 2 Sleepover

Wrapping up the week, the Year 1 and 2 students embarked on the Junior School Camping program!

For the Year 1 students, this meant staying after school until 7 o’clock and having dinner together.

For the Year 2 students, this meant spending 24 hours at school – including an overnight sleepover!

During the day, students took part in a range of activities. In the morning they spent time in the garden and made ‘Grass Heads’ before putting their art skills to the test and decorating a ‘pot’ for the 'Grass Head' to live in.

After recess, students baked damper and made PlayDoh from scratch in the kitchen!

After lunch, students played team building games and activities all afternoons!

A pause for afternoon tea – the fruit was juicy and vanished within seconds! – and then visitors from the Fitnessworx program set up a series of challenges for students to take part in!

Dinner was a well-earned Subway meal, before students decorated their own cupcake for dessert.

The Grade 1 students said goodbye and the Grade 2 students headed down to their classroom, where they set up their beds and watched a movie.

A BIG THANK YOU to Miss C, Mrs. Michalski (who stayed the night with the Grade 2's) and Maria - you all made this day possible with your help, support and incredible attitudes!
