Community

September is always an interesting time of year for the sporting fan - there is a special feel in the air as many of our sports are coming to their 'grand finale' with the success of the Matildas recently, the SANFL Grand Final and of course the AFL and NRL Grand Finals both coming up this weekend. Our winter basketball has wrapped up for another season (well done to the under 12's on their grand final win) and it was a pleasure to watch the Endeavour College under 14's also take out their grand final last weekend!

Many of our teachers refer to their class as a team and often I refer to our school community - students, families and  staff - as a team, collaborating together to achieve amazing outcomes for our children.

This also shows the value we share that God has designed us to be in community - we all grow through partnership, working together to bring glory to God. An old football coach of mine always used to say that a champion team would always beat a team of champions. His message was quite profound! Created in God’s image, we are relational beings designed to work together - God has gifted each of us to serve our community in the ways that we do.

Each member of our community - children, parents and staff members alike - have been gifted with unique abilities and talents to work collaboratively with one another to form the body of Christ. The diversity in a group should be embraced and celebrated. The secret of team success is simple: a willingness by each of us to do anything and everything with excellence as we work to glorify God together.
