Last Monday we celebrated our Senior Presentation Night. Congratulations to all of our award winners.
It was also a special opportunity to say a final farewell to our Year 12 students as they move on to the next chapter of their journey.
Primary Presentation Night
Mortlake College's Primary Presentation Night was held Wednesday 3rd December.
Congratulations to our Primary 2025 Award Recipients!
We are incredibly proud of all our students who received awards this year — each one is truly well-deserved.
A heartfelt thank you to our generous award donors. We are very fortunate to have such supportive local community members who continue to invest in and celebrate the achievements of our students
Graduation Year 6 Students
Mortlake College’s Primary Presentation Night was held on Wednesday 3rd December, where we proudly celebrated our graduating Year 6 students and their achievements throughout their primary schooling. It was a wonderful evening recognising their growth, hard work, and the exciting transition ahead as they move into secondary school.
We were extremely proud of how confidently our Year 6 students ran the evening, and the positive, uplifting speeches each student delivered about their peers were a true highlight. Their maturity, encouragement of one another, and the supportive way they spoke showcased the strong sense of community within the cohort
Christmas Elves – Spreading Cheer Across Our Community
Last Monday, our Year 6–12 students took on the role of Christmas Elves as they headed out into the community to spread festive cheer. Armed with trays of homemade Christmas baking and joyful voices, students walked around town delivering treats, singing carols and sharing smiles with members of the Mortlake community.
The day was a wonderful example of our students living our school values, showing kindness, generosity and community spirit. Everywhere they went, they were warmly received, with many locals expressing how much the visits brightened their day and added to the Christmas spirit.
Our students were fantastic ambassadors for the school, conducting themselves with respect and enthusiasm and embracing the joy of giving back. Thank you to the families who supported the day through baking contributions, and to the staff who helped coordinate and supervise this special event.
It was a memorable day for both our students and the community, reminding us all that the true spirit of Christmas is found in kindness, connection and giving to others
Bike Education Success – Years 3–6
Last week our Year 3–6 students successfully completed their Bike Education program, and what a wonderful experience it was for all involved. Students developed valuable skills in bike handling, road safety awareness and responsible riding, building both confidence and independence.
We were incredibly proud of the way all students approached the program with enthusiasm, resilience and a positive attitude. A special mention must go to everyone for their efforts during the final big ride, which took place in challenging hot conditions. The determination and sensible decision-making shown by our students in the heat was outstanding.
Congratulations to all students on a fantastic achievement, and thank you to the staff and instructors who supported the program and ensured it was a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Year 7/8 Small Business Project – Learning with Heart
Our Year 7 and 8 Small Business teams recently put their profits to wonderful use, turning learning into meaningful action. After earning an impressive $1,100 profit from their market stalls, students headed to Kmart and shopped up a storm — all with the goal of helping ensure other children experience a happy Christmas morning.
This real-life Humanities learning project gave students the opportunity to apply their business skills in an authentic context, while also reinforcing the importance of empathy, generosity and social responsibility. From budgeting and decision-making to teamwork and reflection, the learning extended well beyond the classroom.
Most importantly, the project brought joy to both the givers and the receivers. We are incredibly proud of our students for the compassion, maturity and community spirit they demonstrated throughout this experience. What a powerful reminder of how learning can make a real difference.
Mortlake Community Carols
It was wonderful to see our students take part in the Mortlake Community Carols on Friday night. They performed with confidence, enthusiasm and pride, helping to create a warm and festive atmosphere for the whole community to enjoy.
Our students represented the school exceptionally well, demonstrating not only their musical talents but also their commitment, teamwork and positive behaviour. Their willingness to give up their time and participate in a community event is something to be very proud of.
Thank you to all the students who were involved, and to the staff and families who supported them on the night. Events like this highlight the strong connection between our school and the wider Mortlake community, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a special evening.
Well done to everyone involved.
