Child Safe Standards

At St Cecilia’s, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority.
To support this, we are continuing our commitment to the Child Safe Standards, which are a set of 11 requirements that guide schools in creating safe, supportive and protective environments for children. These standards help schools prevent harm, respond appropriately to concerns, and ensure children’s voices, rights and wellbeing are always placed first.
This year, we are introducing 11 Months, 11 Standards. Each month, we will focus on one Child Safe Standard and share a short explanation with families. This newsletter introduces the first of the 11 standards. Families will also see a poster below and link that explains this initiative and provides insight into the important work our staff are doing to strengthen child safety across our school. This focused approach helps us meet our compliance responsibilities and, most importantly, continue to build a strong and proactive child safety culture.
