Principal's Message

It has been a positive start to the school year. Our classrooms are calm and settled, and it has been a joy to see students reconnecting with friends and building strong relationships with their new teachers.

A very special welcome to the families who are new to our school community—we look forward to partnering with you to support your children at school. We also extend a warm welcome to our prep students, who officially began school on Thursday.  This is an exciting time for the children, their families and teachers.

Thank you to the Parents Association for helping to make the first day of school so memorable. Our new signage provided the perfect backdrop for photos, and the coffee cart and ‘tea and tissues’ packs were greatly appreciated by families on this special day.

SunSmart – Hats Required

As a SunSmart school, student safety and wellbeing are a priority. All students are required to wear a broad‑rimmed or legionnaire‑style hat while outdoors during Terms 1 and 4.

Students who do not have an appropriate hat must sit in the shade outside the Visual Arts room during recess and lunch. This supports our commitment to sun safety and helps protect students from harmful UV exposure.

We appreciate families’ support in ensuring hats are clearly named and brought to school each day.

Nude Food Reminder

We kindly remind families to support our nude food expectations by limiting food wrappers in lunchboxes where possible. Reducing packaging helps keep our school environment clean and teaches students the importance of caring for our environment.

Parent Information Sessions

Year Level Information Sessions will be held next week to provide families with an overview of the year ahead, including curriculum, routines, and year‑level expectations. Further details were shared via Compass.

Families are also invited to attend the SWPBS & NAPLAN Parent Information Session on Thursday 19 February at 6.30pm. This session will outline our whole‑school behaviour expectations as part of School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) and provide important information about NAPLAN.

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) is a whole‑school approach that promotes positive behaviour through clear, consistent expectations. Our SWPBS team has been working to develop shared behaviour expectations and align them with our new school values.  This learning was shared with all staff during the curriculum days at the start of the year. This work is essential to ensure consistent expectations and responses to behaviour across the school. We will be sharing this information with families at the upcoming information session so you can better understand our approach and reinforce these expectations at home.

Class/Year Level Representatives

We invite parents and carers to volunteer as a class or year level representative. This role focuses on helping families connect and coordinating support for teachers with excursions and other school activities.

You are also invited to join the class and year level contact list to receive communication from the class representative via WhatsApp or email. Please complete this form to provide your details.
