Welcome to dance for 2026!

This year, the dance groups on offer are as follows:

This year, Ms Phillips will be stepping into the role of dance coordinator. A huge thank you to Miss Tulich and Miss Potter for all of their time, care, and dedication to the dance program over the last six years.

If your child would like to be part of a dance group, they will need to take part in an audition. Please sign up for an audition via the following links (Google Forms):

Please note that audition sign-ups will close at midnight tonight, Friday 13 February.

Audition Schedule

Auditions will be held during Term 1 Weeks 5 and 6 on designated dates during lunchtime, for those students who have signed up by the deadline (13 Feb) and are on the audition lists.

Stage 1 Dance	25 Feb - Wednesday, with Miss Tulich and Miss Primrose
Stage 1 Chinese Dance	26 Feb - Thursday, with Miss Guan and Miss Wang
Stage 2 Dance	23 Feb - Monday, with Miss Gregory and Miss James
Stage 3 Dance	24 Feb - Tuesday, with Ms Phillips

Dance Group Commitment

Before signing your child up to try out for a dance group, please check with them that they want to be part of a dance group and that they understand that they are committing to a team for the rest of the school year, if they are selected by audition.

Being part of a dance group involves attending a lunch and morning rehearsal each week and taking part in performances throughout the year. Students who do not wish to take part in an audition on the day will not be made to participate.

Dance Group Descriptions

If your child is unsure if they would like to audition for, the following descriptions will hopefully provide a guide for what they may be interested in.

Stage 1 Dance Group (Years 1 & 2)	The Stage 1 Dance Group is a fun and light-hearted dance group that introduces performance skills and technique to its dancers. It draws on the style of jazz dance and includes elements of musical theatre. It gives our Stage 1 students the chance to explore their creativity through movement.
Stage 1 Chinese Dance Group (Years 1 & 2)	The Stage 1 Chinese Dance Group explores Chinese culture and language through dance.
Stage 2 Dance Group (Years 3 & 4)	The Stage 2 Dance Group is a fun and light-hearted dance group that introduces performance skills and technique to its dancers. It draws on various styles of hip hop, jazz, and contemporary dance and includes elements of musical theatre. It gives our Stage 2 students the chance to explore and deepen their creativity through movement.
Stage 3 Dance Group (Years 5 & 6)	The Stage 3 Dance Group hones into performance skills and developing techniques for its dancers. It draws on many styles of street dance, jazz, contemporary, and cultural dance, and includes various elements of drama and musical theatre. It gives our Stage 3 students the chance to deepen and develop further their techniques, expanding creativity and characterisation skills through movement.
