Amazing 5/6

What’s going on?

We are unfortunately coming to the end of our journey this year and it is with a heavy heart that we will be wishing goodbye to our year 6’s as they begin the next stage of their adventure. There have been so many success stories, positive interactions, laugh-out-loud situations and genuinely touching moments, that it is hard to pick out a highlight. We genuinely want to thank the kids for an amazing year, and we wish them every success next year.

We have a few more huge events coming up to finish the year. Both classes have KK gifts to organise for Wednesday. Please no more then $15-$25 and if they could be wrapped so they are not too obvious, that would be great. We will also have a class party that day. Food and drinks will be provided, so nothing needs to be brought in. On Thursday the Year 6’s will be going out on their ‘Big Day Out’ and the year 5’s will have a variety of different activities to do on that day, Culminating in an afternoon in Le Page Park. Finally on Friday we have the ‘Big Ride Out’ to Mordy Pier, a great way to finish the year.

Student Report

Hi, my name is Clement, and I am a leader in chess and library, and I am Amit, and I am a leader in Maths.

In the last two weeks, in Maths, we have been doing carnival prep. The carnival stands are made by groups of 56 students that have been preparing a carnival game for the lower year levels to enjoy. My game is about called X-Shot Recruiters. You have x-shot guns and have to shoot at a specific target (Clement). We made Spin The Bottle. You have to spin the bottle to win a prize or nothing (Amit).

In Reading, my group has been reading the book Ranger’s Apprentice. It is about a young boy called Will being the ranger Halt’s apprentice (Clement). We read George’s Marvellous Medicine. It is about George who made a medicine and grandma, who is very rude. In the end, grandma gets a punishment and becomes really small (Amit).

In Inquiry, we have been continuing with our projects. They are about our own family history.

I am excited for the picnic this week (Clement) and I am looking forward to the class party (Amit).
