Our highlight this week was our visit from the Water Watchers from Yarra Valley Water. The Water Watchers are a squad of crusaders who were forced to flee their home planet after it was drained of all its water. After light years of travel, they landed on Earth with a mission to watch over the planet’s precious water supply and remind Earthlings to turn their taps off.
We had a great time learning about how we can be water wise in our homes and even got Welly the Water Watcher to come home with us! We are all now helping the Water Watcher’s on their mission!
We have been busy rehearsing for the Christmas Extravaganza which will ow be held on Tuesday, 5th December. They sound like a professional choir! More details will be sent home on Monday about how the Prep’s will run on the night.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.

Over the last few weeks, we've been using hands-on materials to build 3D shapes and learning important vocabulary such as faces, edges & vertices!
Check out our Posi Socks! Grade 1 students have been learning about gratitude and how appreciating what we already have helps our well-being.
The Level 1/2 students loved participating in our dress up activity, 'Olden Day.' Their olden day costumes were awesome and they thoroughly enjoyed the old fashioned activities. They were given opportunities to participate in an olden day classroom, play with toys and games from the past and make damper, butter and lemonade. A huge thank you to families who created costumes and donated lemons. Your support ensured the the students had an awesome day!

Over the last few weeks. Students have had positive interactions with our new Posi Socks program.
In Maths, we have been learning more about time and consolidating students learning. It would be fabulous if telling the time could be part of your daily routines at home too.
We have all been enjoying developing our multi genre writing projects, exploring our own areas of interest and doing researching, drafting and editing to showcase our writing. We are looking forward to having a Writing expo in week 10 when we will be sharing our work across the level.
We have had a great time learning about Australia and its neighbours. Researching information about our states, the capitals and even key landmarks.
Could we please ask that you have a good look around home to see if you have any library books to return.
We look forward to seeing you all at the Christmas extravaganza.

As always we have had a big two weeks in Senior School. Not only have we participated in some great classroom learning, but we have also enjoyed two 'Talk Money' incursions this fortnight. Thank you to Shabdad and Jake who visited each of the classrooms and spoke to us about some very important money lessons.
Although our assessments are slowing down, student learning certainly hasn't. Literature Circles have continued in reading while we take a special interest in visualising and synthesising information to better comprehend texts.
In Writing students have begun work on their Writers Passion Project. Some spectacular work has been produced and we are thrilled to see the growth that students are demonstrating. These will be sent home towards the end of term so keep your eye out for the printed copies of their writing contained within their packet.
On Thursday, year 6 students who are attending a government school participated in online transition sessions. It was lovely to hear all their questions and see how eager they are to get to high school next year!
Our Inquiry learning has been focused around the fundraising and promotion of the end of year celebration events for Senior School. By now we are sure that your students have told you all about our ice-cream day and free dress days! Take a look at some of the great posters that have been created and placed around the school.
Just a reminder that slips were sent home recently for students who have outstanding titles from the library. We need all library books returned ASAP so that our lovely Librarian Mrs. Donnelly has a chance to track them and return them to the shelves ready for a new year of borrowing to begin in 2024!.
A big congratulations to all students who participated in the inter-school sport day on Friday last week! Check out some of the action shots from our teams!
Congratulations are also due to those students who bravely stood in front of their peers and delivered their leadership speech. We were blown away by the calibre of speeches and leadership qualities found in Senior School and know that the team of leaders that will be selected will be incredible. We look forward to the announcement of leadership positions in the final week of school at a special assembly.
Finally... a little note from the teaching team (in case you missed it in Feed Forward last week):
We understand that this time of year can be an expensive one. The cost of living is hitting us all and regardless of how you celebrate it, the end of the year is often an expensive time, especially for those with students moving into high school. As a team we would like to extend our understanding around this and hope that if you are struggling to make ends meet or cover costs of school related activities, that you reach out to either your child’s classroom teacher, Damien Smith (Team Leader), Craig or Jenine in the office. We will work with you to find a solution and ensure your child gets to participate in all activities and has a wonderful end to their year.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the Christmas Extravaganza, now on the 5th December!
