Wellbeing

Future Student Leaders @ OLSC

Recently all year 5 students were involved in a Leadership Day. The theme of the day was The Leader in Me.  The learning intentions for the day were to:

  • Define what a leader is
  • Recognise effective leaders in our lives
  • Identify the qualities, skills and behaviours of effective leaders
  • Identify our personal leadership skills and behaviours
  • Build resilience and leadership skills

We were most impressed with the way the students conducted themselves throughout the day and worked cooperatively together.

They worked in groups and  listed some impressive responses to the qualities & skills of effective leaders & composed a quote or motto about leadership.

The final part of the day the students were led through the process of applying for the many student leadership positions for 2024. We look forward to reading their applications & feel confident we have many aspiring leaders in our midst.

Tree Planting Day

What a busy day it was on Tuesday. Gardening club, student leaders & Yr 5/6 students spent the day planting 70 trees around our school. We can honestly say it was no easy task but the students worked tirelessly to get the job done. I'm sure they all went home proud of their efforts, extremely tired & dirty.  I know I did!

Many thanks to Wyndham Shire 'Trees for Schools' program & 'Landcare' for  providing the trees.

A shout out to Gunther for digging the holes & to Scott, Sue, Sarena & Sam for being out there guiding & helping.
