Term 4, Week 8 - Friday 24th November, 2023

Good afternoon OLSC families

The end of the year is sneaking up on us!  It's hard to believe that we will finish the school year in just 3 weeks time.

PLEASE NOTE: There will not be a newsletter in week 10 (2 weeks time) and the last newsletter for the year will be on Friday 15th December which is the last day for students.

Not Returning in 2024?

We currently have a waiting list for students wanting to enrol at OLSC.  If your family is moving house next year and students will not be returning to OLSC please let the office know as soon as possible.  There has been an overwhelming number of people seeking enrolment especially in the 3/4 area.  We currently have a waiting list n all levels for 2024.

Later today you will receive notification from Jane regarding a fee increase for 2024. This decision was not taken lightly and I ask any families in financial distress to get in contact with me or Jane to discuss the situation.  This has been a directive by the archdiocese and the MACS business manager assigned to the St Andrew's parish schools. I encourage any families that are facing financial challenges to contact either Jane or myself to discuss your situation.

The family fee will increase by $70 to $1770.  We will keep the curriculum fee at $400 which has not increased in the last four years.

Here's a recap of the last two weeks at OLSC...

Whole School Mass

On Wednesday 15th November we celebrated a whole school mass at 2:00pm in the Sports Centre.  Many families were able to join the staff and students for this event and I thank them for coming along.  Father Albert commented on how reverent and impressive the conduct of our students was - well done.

Wow! This Event was a Major Success - OLSC Bunnings Sausage Sizzle Fund Raiser

It was great to see so many of our families come down to Bunnings in Hoppers Crossing last Saturday 18th November.  Though busy it was a very success and at time stressful it was a great day and fundraiser.  Thanks to Sarah and Ashlee for organising and to all of the volunteers.  Many staff 'manned' the BBQ and sales table and I thank them for giving up their Saturday.

Here's what the next 3 weeks hold for us...

Year 3/4 Camp
