JUNIOR SCHOOL NEWS

Bennett Thomson

Junior Sub School Manager

It is quite unbelievable to say we are into week 7 of term 4, 2023. Congratulations to the Year 12 students who have finished, and good luck in your future endeavours. It has been quite a year and as it draws to a close there are a few things that are on the radar coming into the end of the year.

Exams

Exams for the Junior Sub-School students will be from Wednesday 22 to Friday 24 November. I remind all students to bring their pencils and pens as well as all the other relevant materials for English (22 November - all year levels) and Maths (23 November - all year levels). Our SEAL students will be doing exams for their Humanities and Science classes on Friday 24 November.

STEM and Swimming for Year 8 Students

Our Year 8 cohort will be embarking on their STEM and swimming programs in Week 9. This is a week where they are looking to build a theme park using teamwork and their skills in science, technology, engineering and maths. The swimming program is run out of Kardinia Pool for all students two periods a day. This is a program that requires a sign up so please do so through Compass.

Activities

Week 10 is Activities Week for the school, and we offer a variety of things to do during this week, from going to DFO and Adventure Park off-site to a number of activities on-site as well. All students have been given, through their homeroom teachers, a sheet with activities to choose from. The sign-up sessions are in full swing with the final session being 29 November. This is on a first-in-first-served basis so please try and get these done as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

Awards Night

Finally, after all of our activities for the year have ceased, we have our annual awards evening at The Play House. Students will be notified about the evening in due course. It is a fantastic celebration of the school year that was a very fitting way to round out our year.
