Staffing

I congratulate Mrs Emily Dias on her ongoing appointment to the staff of the College and to the Position of Vocational Major Leader for 2024.  I also advise that Ms Leana Bailey will be returning from maternity leave in 2024 and resume her role as the Careers and VET Leader and thank Mr Bruce Topham for his work as her replacement this year.

VET Hospitality: Final Service for 2023

The final service for the VET Team took place in the Graduates' Restaurant on Friday. The parents of students who are completing VET studies in Certificate 111 in Patisserie, Certificate 11 in Hospitality and Certificate 11 in Cookery attended a meal prepared and served by our students under the direction of VET Staff Kees van der Laan, Melanie Haider and Kirsty Hall. Our VET staff provide a wonderful environment of industry standard training for the students which is demonstrated through the quality of food and service that was on offer during the sitting. The students will continue the study of their two-year courses at the Graduates' Restaurant when service opens again in 2024.

Lasallian Foundation

It was very pleasing to be able to send off some fund-raising money in Term 3 to the La Salle Girls’ High School, Sant Singh Wala in Pakistan. The money raised by our students through our Make a difference Day fundraising activities (MAD Day) will go towards purchasing a photocopier in the High School to assist teachers with curriculum programs and administration functions.

Very shortly our senior students and ex-students led by Director of Faith and Mission, Mr John Rhynehart and House Leader Ash Fraraccio will leave for Cambodia to work in La Salle Pothum, a school 40 minutes from Phnom Penh. The team will leave after the Year 12 Graduation and spend two weeks assisting with Literacy programs in the school before taking in some of the cultural sights of Cambodia.

Student House Leaders 2024

I congratulate our newly appointed House Captains for 2024. They will play an important role next year in capturing and reflecting the Student Voice of our community. I rely heavily on our student leaders to help create an environment along

with the teaching staff where students want to come to learn and make new friendships as they take that journey of discovering their full potential. On the 29 November all student leaders will be presented to the community at our Awards Evening. I look forward to working with our school leaders and helping them develop as servant leaders of our College in 2024.
